This workshop is presented on the BERNINA L890 (combo machine).

No matter what machine you own, you'll learn tips and tricks. Feel free to reach out to Gail via email gail@gailpatrice.com to answer your questions on all serger brands.

In this class replay, we’ll deep dive into 3-thread narrow overlock stitches. These stitches are delicate yet durable. We'll explore creative ways to finish edges on garments as well as other projects. We’ll cover proper machine setup, thread choices, and techniques that make the difference between frustration and success.

🧵 What You’ll Learn

  • 2-thread vs. 3-thread rolled hem setup

  • How thread choice affects your result (12-wt, wooly poly, etc.)

  • Lettuce edge technique (without distortion)

  • Picot edge for fine fabrics

  • Adding beads (and what your machine can handle)

🪡 Continue the Series

In Part 2, we move into 2, 3 and 4-thread overlock techniques for structure, durability, and decorative finishes.

In Part 3, we focus on cover/chainstitch techniques for clean, ready-to-wear hems and edge control.
