Decorative Stitches Serger Workshop

About the Workshops

🧵 Sergers can handle thick decorative threads to create strong stitching and fabulous surface embellishments. In this workshop, you'll discover how a 2-thread overlock stitch can be transformed into 3 distinctly different decorative stitches and more. We’ll create in both overlock and cover/chainstitch mode. Your serger might even become your new favorite embellishment tool!

Supply List:

You don’t need these for the live class if you prefer to watch the class and ask questions, then work at your own pace with the recorded class link (which you'll have forever). That works well for many students. But if you do want to stitch along, here are suggested supplies:

  •  90/14 Topstitch needle
  • Suggested threads: 12 wt cotton threads (WonderFil Spagetti, rayon Accent, YLI Jeans Stitch and/or 8 wt. pearl crown rayon or your faves)
  • Serger cone thread 8” squares of quilting weight cotton fabrics; Choose a variety from your stash. No limits on colors or prints.

I will email the Zoom link out 30m to 1-hr before class starts!

This way it won't get buried in your inbox. You will also receive an email with the class handout and Zoom download info upon registration. Please send any questions to

Thank You, and I looking forward to seeing you in class :)
