Decorative Serger Stitches
Join me virtually Sat. July 23 from 12-3:30p ET for a Decorative Serger Stitches Workshop!
Jul 23, 2022, 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM EDT
About the Workshops
🪡 If you think finishing seams is all your serger can do, you’re in for a treat. A few tweaks of your serger settings can transform utility stitches into beautiful embellishments for quilts, garments and home décor projects.
Sergers can handle thick decorative threads to create fabulous surface embellishments. See how a 2-thread overlock stitch can be transformed into 3 distinctly different decorative stitches and more. We’ll create in both overlock and cover/chainstitch mode. Your serger might even become your new favorite embellishment tool!
PS: Don’t toss your samples. They’ll do double duty and be showcased in an upcoming new project class. Stay tuned for details. (You’ll love it!)
You don’t need these for the live class if you prefer to watch the class and ask questions, then work at your own pace with the recorded class link. That works well for many students. But if you do want to stitch along, here are suggested supplies.
- 90/14 Topstitch needle
- Suggested threads: 12 wt cotton threads (WonderFil Spagetti, rayon Accent, YLI Jeans Stitch and/or 8 wt. pearl crown rayon or your faves)
- Serger cone thread
- 8” squares of quilting weight cotton fabrics; Choose a variety from your stash. No limits on colors or prints.
* I will send the Zoom link out 30m to 1-hr before class starts! *
This way it won't get buried in your inbox. You will also receive an email with the class handout and Zoom download info upon registration. Please send any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank You!! Looking forward to seeing you in class!!
